Hello.
As you can see, there's been some reconstruction.
I think I'm just extremely fickle.
Or crazy.
Maybe both?

Any who,
HAPPY late (insert holiday here)!
I hope you had fun doing whatever it is you usually do on your holiday that falls around this time on the calendar.
Sorry it is a tad late, I was occupied with my multitude of holiday festivities, which include Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day with the extended family and Christmas morning with just my immediate family.
FUN STUFF.

I just love key changes. In music.
I've always loved them, but this love has DEFINITELY GROWN after hearing the key change in Girls Freak Me Out by The Summer Set.
CLICK ME if you wanna hear.
Brian Dales has an AMAZING voice. Add The Summer Set to my long list of obsessions.
Alongside Berry White Mochas from Caribou and NeverShoutNever.

Why was six afraid of seven?
It wasn't. Numbers are not sentient and thus incapable of feeling fear.

Stuck in the sand with the waves at my feet,
And I wish you'd come crash into me
'Cause where you are is where I wanna be now.

(My favorites ♥)

Well, hello there Internet.
You're looking swell today. *plethora of awkward pickup lines*

Plethora.
That is a fun word.
A fun word indeed.

So are pickup lines.
Especially the Harry Potter themed pickup lines. HILARIOUS.
Examples:
"Interested in making some magic together? My wand is at the ready."
"I'm not wearing an invisibility cloak, but do you think i could visit your restricted section tonight?"
"Whaddya say you and me go look for the Room of Requirement?"

Sorry this is a short one.
But I have to go to THE FIRST SWEENEY REHEARSAL and study for yet another Euro test... Why is this class taking over my life?
Ponder that while the dentist is cleaning your teeth. Or whatever activities you choose to pursue today.

How do you wake up Lady Gaga?
Set an alarm for a reasonable hour.

Euro and a Vanilla White Mocha.
A harmonious combination. Minus the Euro.
It tastes like winter. Speaking of, Minnesota has another winter storm warning.
It's a WINTER WONDERLAND up here.
♫ Walking in a winter wonderland ♫

Guess what.
I have some new favorite pants. Well, leggings.
They're striped. Pink and gray specifically. They are extremely comfortable and warm.
They sort of resemble the epic pants...

ENSEMBLE FOR SWEENEY!
Not what I actually wanted, but it'll still be a GREAT show!
AND i get to do my first show in a while with some of my freshie friends. It's gonna be a PARTY.
It's also a ghetto fam semi-reunion... I think half of us are in Sweeney Todd...?? Ehh. But i miss y'all.

I have a renewed love for CHRISTMAS cookies after making them yesterday.
Especially frosting war paint. YEAHHH.

And the movie ELF.
"I think you're really beautiful and I feel really warm when I'm around you and my tongue swells up."
"I'm a cotton-headed ninnymuggins."
"Buddy the elf, what's your favorite color?"

What's brown and sticky?
A stick.

Are you running out of breath?
From running through my head ALL NIGHT?
-Stephen Jerzak

Anywho,
I'M BACK. Whaddup.
I think this is going to be a regular thing, yes?
GOOD.

So, I'm patiently waiting for the cast list of SWEENEY TODD to be posted. (I got callbacks for Lucy/Beggar Woman and Mrs. Lovett, by the way). I'M NERVOUS. But whatever happens, happens, and I'm DEFINITELY honored to be considered! Callbacks were also really fun, which is a definite plus.
I think I'd rather be the Beggar Woman for several reasons,
1. For the entire show, she just runs around screaming at people. For most of the time it's either FIRE or ALMS.
2. She gets to die at the end. Which would be really fun as well.
3. She gets to wear a really sketchy beggar costume.
4. She gets to sing high. Which I quite enjoy.
5. She randomly appears in random places.
YEAH. I think that'd be just a little bit FUN and HILARIOUS...
But seriously. I'm fine with anything!

How do you confuse a blonde?
Paint yourself GREEN and throw forks at her.

Your mother is so fat, she should be worried about the increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

What is red and smells like blue paint?
Red paint.

My friend recently told me about these and I think they are quite funny.
More next time, yes?
I think so.

it makes me smile :)

Author: Kara /

The last time i participated in this tradition (made by my love Lucy), it was the summer, and I feel like I need some things to smile about :)

It makes me smile...
- Going through Cinderella pictures. Thank you to those who put them on Facebook.
- A specific picture: the one of Jack and I during the village scene. LOVE IT and him.
- The "KT" spray-cheesed cracker that's still my phone background.
- Pronouncing German EXTREMELY wrong. ACK!
- Long lunch chats with my BFF.
- Making skits for the Odyssey in Communications.
- The feeling of being DONE with a Euro test!
- Getting Facebook chatted by the Cinderella cast. It brightened my day!
- Filling out the Sweeney Todd audition form. I'm actually SO EXCITED to audition! I know it'll be a great time and I hope i get in! Cross your fingers for me :)
Plus all the AMAZINGLY AMAZING experiences I had last weekend with the Cinderella cast during production week... DEFINITELY too many to write in one post!
Now I gotsa go ♫ SING ♫ at my choir concert and practice for auditions next week! Adios!

XOX,
Kara ♥

WITHDRAWAL.

Author: Kara /

Well, it's over.
Cinderella is over.
And I am EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY SAD.
If you are reading this and you're in the cast, I'll miss you all SO MUCH and I LOVE YOU ALL. Seriously. I'm going to be experiencing MAJOR withdrawal for the next couple of weeks. This was my favorite show that I have been in and I honestly have never worked with a better cast! :)
And to everyone in the GHETTO FAMILY...
Y'all were pretty much the reason this show was SO SO FUN. Imma miss you all SO MUCH. Wait. Kidding. We're still DEFINITELY gonna hang :)
But I LOVE YOU and I'm still really sad that we don't get to perform together anymore :( But I know that some of you are auditioning for the next Bluewater show Sweeney Todd (which I FERVENTLY HOPE I get into... we'll see)

Well,
Now time to sadly and slowly return to normal life. Which includes studying for a Euro test with my project buddies Mari and Sara today. Mehhhhhhhh.

XOX,
Kara ♥

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! ♥
I really am thankful for all my family and friends... LOVE YOU ALL! (super cliche, I know)
So,
It's been a while, hasn't it?
It'll be a while again because of CINDERELLA PRODUCTION WEEK THIS WEEK! AAAAAAAH.
Monday 4-9 PM + Tuesday + 4-9 PM + Wednesday. 4-9 PM + SHOW ON THURSDAY + SHOW ON FRIDAY + Euro homework = 1 STRESSED OUT GIRL.
BUT I'm SUPER PSYCHED to hang with my GHETTO FAMILIA every night this week. It'll be a party.

Onto happier things...
Thanksgiving was great. I had some fun times up at Grandmas. Where MAGICAL THINGS happen. *fairy music*
AAAAAAAAND...
Today my wonderful amazing parental units decided to get me my Christmas present early! Like early as in today. This present was tall black Ugg boots, and this was because my other Uggs were fake and LEAKED once it started to snow. Sooooo there was definitely a need for new ones, especially with the cold Minnesota winter approaching. So I'm SUPER thankful for that!

Erm, I think that's it y'all!
Eat plenty of peaches and don't forget to scrub your shrubs! (Credit to Allison Young... I saw this on our Euro gmail thingy and I thought it was extremely cute)

HARMONY

Author: Kara /

Christofer Drew Ingle = PURE INSPIRATION.
Seriously.
Harmony just came up on shuffle and I feel purely inspired.
"I am I, you are you, we are we, we could live in such harmony."
This kind of made my day. I've decided that I'm for sure going to plant those flowers that came with the CD once spring rolls around. Because up here in Minnesota, where we ride behind sled dogs to school every morning, it's too cold in October to plant flowers :)

His music is actually about real things, too, which I LOVE. I'm sick of all these pop nasties that think that they can go around acting like sluts to get people's attention. That's not what music is about. They need to remember why they started singing in the first place.
So I flip, flipperin' flippen love Christofer Drew and his music. Congrats to him on keeping his music real in a society where most music is pretty much fake. And I promise to keep listening and buying until he stops making music. WHICH I HOPE IS FOR AN EXTREMELY LONG TIME!

XOX,
Kara ♥

back... again...

Author: Kara /

Well, hello there.
I've been extremely negligent lately pertaining to posting, and I'm also in big-vocabulary-word-mode because of my Euro FRQ that I had today, so I PROMISE I'll start posting more. I seriously do.
So my life is pretty boring right now... I haven't been doing anything extremely life-changing and earth-shaking. But I hope to start soon :)
I've also started doing spotlights for the fall high school show for the second year with ALLISON YOUNG, aka Fux Fux or the other Spot-Rant. And it's EXTREMELY fun. I also get to see my other friends in the cast, like MARI, LUCY, BRIDGET, and ALL OF THE REST OF Y'ALL. Which is also pretty flip, flipperin' flippen amazing too. I just love theatre people ♥

XOX,
Kara ♥
(Argh. I really wish they had a better purple on here...)

Long time, no see

Author: Kara /

HEY!
I've had an extreme lack of posting in the last few weeks. Why? Kara's EXTREMELY busy, that's why. With homework (AP EURO... ERGH) and Cinderella and friends and such. But it's been a GREAT three or so weeks.
A couple weekends ago was HOMECOMING! Homecoming was AMAZING. That's all there is to it. I had a great time with amazing people. Hell yeah :)
Except for the dance was a tad lame, but what school dance isn't, right?
Everything's just been going awesomely. Sophomore year is AMAZING. I'm so glad that I'm not a Freshman. But hey, we've all been there and done that, and it was fun then too.
Erm, also...
TWO EPISODES OF GLEE HAVE PASSED. The Britney Spears episode and the Kurt's dad/religious episode. They were both great, of course. BUT...
I AM IN LOVE WITH PUCK'S SONG AT THE BEGINNING OF THE RELIGIOUS EPISODE. If you don't believe me, watch yourself. MMMMM.
I love me some Glee boys :) ♥
Except for I miss his mohawk :(

Anywho, I won't be blogging too much this weekend. It's CRAZY busy. Tonight I'm hanging out with my BFF Estefania, which I'm SUPER pumped for. We haven't hung out in TOO LONG. And i have a feeling that we'll do a little Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging. YEAHHH :)
And tomorrow is Cinderella and Euro project mania. EEEE-AAAAH!
And on Sunday I'm getting confirmed. Whee.
So yeah.
I'll miss ya!
Bye, y'all! :)

Kara ♥

procrastination.

Author: Kara /

HOLA.
This is Kara's procrastination post. There are much more important things that I SHOULD be doing right about now, but I am not doing. Like studying for the TWO TESTS I have tomorrow. Why, you ask?
I DON'T KNOW. The mystery of procrastination is yet to be solved. All we know so far is that it's a long and cool word that describes lazy people. Just like me.
ERM...
In other news, KARA MADE A SHOW! YAY! APPLAUSE! JUMPING TOADSTOOLS! :D
I'm the understudy for Grace in Cinderella! Yee-haw!
(Grace is one of the two evil stepsisters. She also the one who apparently likes to read awful poetry and gets itchy when she's nervous)
So basically since I'm an understudy, I have to go to DOUBLE REHEARSALS (for Grace and for the ensemble) but don't get to perform unless the actual Grace gets sick or injured or whatnot. And I have to learn all of Grace's lines and singing parts. Sigh.
But I'm actually pretty excited, even though I don't get to perform in the show. Being in a show is fun enough as it is! I love being a theatre kid. :)
AGH. I HATE MICROSOFT TYPING CORRECTIONS. THEATRE IS SPELLED WITH THE RE INSTEAD OF THE ER!
CURSE YOU MICROSOFT! YOU CAUSE ME DAILY ANGST WITH YOUR AUTOMATED GRAMMAR POLICE!
ANGST ANGST ANGST! *bangs head against the wall*

Well, erm, I better start studying. That AP Euro test isn't going to fail itself.

XOX,

full of GLEE

Author: Kara /

Hey, whaddup?
So, last night was the season premiere of GLEE!

I'm a tad obsessed. And it was flip, flipperin' flippen AMAZING just like I thought it would be.
So this is what I thought of the episode, for all you GLEEKS just like me, DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET:
- I LOVE BILLIONAIRE BOY. His voice is AMAZING. Even though it was extremely sad when he was the quarterback when Finn got kicked off the football team, but it'll be SUPER exciting when they eventually convince him to join Glee!
- I'm actually really happy that Quinn's back on the Cheerios. I'm really proud of her.
- Sunshine is ADORABLE. I love her pigtails and she's such a good singer. Poo on Vocal Adrenaline for taking her away. Bleh.
- Coach Beiste freaks me out. Seriously. I felt bad for him/her when Mr. Shue didn't let her sit with him, but still. And him/her kicking Finn off the football team = TOTAL BS.
- Rachel... ICK. Honestly.
- I love how Tina and Mike Chang are going out. That's adorable. Artie's just annoyingly possessive and Tina should have dumped him. And MIKE CHANG = AMAZING ABS. He was really hot dancing around the little camp with the little Asian kids.
- Creepy fro kid has GOTTA GO. He's just annoying.
- Santana's boob job = TOTAL NO NO. I think she might be pregnant... the crying in the beginning and all... but that's just a speculation. I'm probably wrong.
QUOTES FROM THE EPISODE:
Puck: Dude, your mouth is huge. How many tennis balls can you fit in there?
Sam: I don't know. I've never had any balls in my mouth. Have you?
Beiste: Ugh, those smell like dog poop. Are they dog poop cookies?!
Brittany: People thought I went on vacation, but I actually spent the summer lost in the sewers.
Beiste: Your all coffee and no omelet.
Sue (to Santana): You're demoted to the bottom of the pyramid so when it collapses, your exploding sandbags will keep everyone safe from injury.

I love this show. That's all I can say.

Kara ♥

untitled.

Author: Kara /

A title requires inspiration. And most, if not all of any sort of inspiration has been sucked up from this tiring and stressful yet AMAZING  first week of SOPHOMORE YEAR. WHEE-OOO!

So,
I've decided I actually like school.
WHAAAAAAT? KARA LIKES SCHOOL?!
Yes. Kara likes school.

Kara likes school because she has pretty flip, flipperin' flippen amazing classes and flip, flipperin' flippen amazing people in them.

Which are...
CHOIR: I was seriously blown away in the amount of progress you can make from one year to the next. Cantori is pretty amazing, if I do say so myself.
HONORS COMM: Besides the summer homework and timed essay writing, it's pretty good. Ms. Murphy is really nice, and its the same girls minus some that are in choir. So that by itself is pretty awesome.
AP EURO: Oh damn. I think I may have made a large mistake in signing up for this...
Well, I've had a good 2 hours of homework for 2 out of 3 nights (we had a test today so we didn't get any last night. thank God) and I got a C minus on both of the two daily quizzes. C MINUS. NOT APPROPRIATE.
Buuuut I got an A on my European map test, which kinda helps a bit :)
HEALTH: Ehh, it's okay. It's just pretty much the same stuff we learned in eighth grade all over again, but with different people. And I don't know any of those said people. Fun.
BIO X: I LOVE Bio X. My teacher's hilarious and we have some pretty hilarious people in the class too. I may just have to sit back and laugh when it's appropriate :)
So, that's pretty much a breakdown of my schedule this term. Ain't it purty?
I also get to eat lunch with my best friend every day. HELL YES.
Except for the first Friday there was no ice cream. But no worries. That will be fixed :)

Erm...
That's it. Now, since I have nothing to do this wonderful Friday night, I might just have to go spend some quality time with mi familia.
Ciao!

- Eating brunch at 7 at night
- When my puppy jumps up and licks my face every time I walk in the room
- Guilty pleasures (aka Kara's Nerdy Obsession with the Dungeons of Moria game...I'm on level 15! WHEE-OOO!)
- Being DONE WITH SUMMER HOMEWORK FINALLY!
- School starting tomorrow. I'm actually kinda sick of just sitting around and doing nothing and I REALLY miss seeing my friends every day
- The movie The Notebook
- Finding a GREAT homecoming dress
- Spending time with my mom. I wish most teenagers wouldn't have such an aversion to their parents. I actually really like hanging out with my mom... she's super cool and has some really insightful things to say
- Painting my nails bright colors. Currently, neon pink
- A Rocket to the Moon. Their music's always a day brightener
- Playing Nertz and Mafia
- Finding the PERFECT shoes to go with that ever-so-important (it is important, no matter how much you try to deny it) first day of school outfit

Well that be all. Ta-ta for now and I'll be back to talk about my first day as a Sophomore!
I'm actually super pumped!

And all that jazz

Author: Kara /

Howdy, y'all!
(This is inspired by my favorite character Stevie Rae in my new favorite book series, The House of Night series. I know what you're thinking. Just another Twilight knockoff. But it's actually really different than Twilight and in my opinion MUCH MUCH better. The first book is called Marked. I'm reading Untamed now, which is the 4th book, but I seriously suggest you check it out. AND READ THEM IN ORDER FOR YOU START-IN-THE-MIDDLE-OF-A-BOOK-SERIES-ERS! NOTHING will make sense if you start in the middle. NOTHING.)
Anywho...
KARA'S STRESSED.
VERY STRESSED.
Know why?

SUMMER HOMEWORK. THAT'S WHY.
Okay, yes. I did save 130-ish pages of Fahrenheit 451 (which is an INSANELY boring book, no offense to the Honors Comm 10 people)and a reading packet thingy for the last SIX DAYS before school starts. You could just call me the epitome of procrastination.
So now I have six days to finish this book (well, 7 if you count the first day of school when I don't have Communications). Hooray.
I also have to learn a piece of audition music for WHS MUSICAL AUDITIONS (EEEEEEK!)in 7 days. Well, let's just see how these go. I honestly have no idea what the outcome will be on that one...
But I've heard that the music is easy, which is a plus. A minus is that I'm really really bad at auditions. Like nervous wise. So we'll see :)

So where was I those six days that I was gone?
Well,
I was at my cabin! WHEE-OOO!
LOVE MY CABIN.
And we were up there with another pretty awesome family too, and we had a pretty flip, flipperin' flippen GREAT time up there.
And I got a bit sunburned. Particularly on my nose.

ERM...
(There's that word again, erm. Again I emphasize how much I LOVE British people)

Today I had a strange urge to listen to the soundtrack from CHICAGO. My mama used to listen to it in the car all the time when I was 10 or so even though I've actually never seen the show. Apparently it's about a bunch of ladies who killed their cheating husbands and ended up in jail. Fun, right?
Yep.
Apparently Renee Zellweger is in the movie (I didn't have an issue with her until she made New in Town, which is EXTREMELY discriminatory towards Minnesotans. No, it's not always 10 below here and we do not sit around wearing Norwegian sweaters saying "No way! Yes way!" with our apparently weird sounding Minnesota accents and ice fish all day. And Renee Zellweger makes a really annoying pinchy-looking face on all the movie pictures), which is a HUGE negative. But i absolutely LOVE Queen Latifah, whose also in it. So I may just have to rent this baby and take a watch.

I think it might be time to read more of that nasty book. CURSES!
XOX,
Kara ♥

OBSESSED.

Author: Kara /

Guess what today is.
Today is August 24th. And that's the day that NEVERSHOUTNEVER'S NEW ALBUM COMES OUT!
And guess what else.
IT'S FLIP, FLIPPERIN' FLIPPEN AMAZING!
I think you should know that NeverShoutNever is BY FAR my favorite band. Or person. I have no idea what to call it when its only one person. But you get it.
And I'm a bit obsessed.
I believe that I am very close to owning every single song NeverShoutNever has ever made. And they're all as flip, flipperin' flippen amazing as Harmony (the album) is. So LISTEN TO 'EM!
And as an added bonus,
The Harmony CD (keep in mind that I had a Target gift card that was just begging to be used) had a little paper inside. Boring, right?
BUT WAIT.
On the front of the paper there was a little world drawn on and the word HARMONY underneath.

And this was on the back.
If you can't read it, it says, and I quote;
"This paper is embedded with wildflower seeds. Soak the paper in a glass of water for a day.
Plant under a thin layer of soil.
Water daily and keep moist until seedlings are well established."

And I'm DEFINITELY going to plant these flowers. HELL YES.

Erm...
Well, tomorrow I have a choir concert.
And a solo voice concert.
And in the aforementioned choir concert, I have a teensy solo.
And I'm actually a bit nervous because my voice is a bit lost. It's not too bad, but I REALLY HOPE it gets fully better before 5:00 tomorrow.
So in the next 18 hours I'll be drinking tea and honey like a flip, flipperin' flippen madwoman. EEEE-AAAAH!
I'm also really excited. Because the songs we're singing and the songs that I'm singing are AWESOME. I LOVE THEM.
For Voce, we're singing Call of the Flowers, Ain't Misbehavin', And So It Goes, and Halo/Walkin' on Sunshine from GLEE (another obsession of mine).
Aaaaaaaand...
These are the two songs I'm singing;

I Don't Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar  (which I think is an absolutely GORGEOUS song. I feel extremely privileged to sing such a beautiful and meaningful song)
AND

You'll Never Walk Alone from Carousel (which I also LOVE, don't get me wrong)

You like?
I really like. Let's just hope my voice comes back!
On that note, I gotsa go drink my tea and listen to HARMONY one more time before bed.

XOX,
Kara ♥

WICKEDLY amazing...

Author: Kara /

Hey. Miss me? Thought so :)
Guess what. I have a new favorite musical. Its name is WICKED. And it's WICKEDLY AMAZING.
I don't know if anyone else saw Wicked at the Orpheum in Minneapolis, but the Elphaba there was WICKEDLY AMAZING too. Seriously.
Vicki Noon is my new musical inspiration.

One National Anthem at a Twins game later...

Author: Kara /

hello again! I'm back :)
As you can probably tell, today my summer choir VOCE sang the National Anthem at a Twins Game today. And yes, it was pretty flip, flipperin' flippen awesome.
The most flip, flipperin' flippen awesome part is that JOE MAUER was there. Right on the field when we were going in. Stretching. He has one of the most BE-YOU-TIFUL smiles I've ever seen. Especially up close. And he wished our whole choir luck before we sang.
HELL YES.
And apparently he waved to two very insanely lucky alto mamas. And I am very insanely jealous.
But anyway,
The rest of the game was pretty fun. Apparently me, Anna, and Lucy were on the Jumbotron and we didn't even notice. Yes, we are THAT observant.
And after that we got totally creeped on by a drunk guy. A drunk guy who said he was from Canada and wanted to show the Canadians how pretty American girls were. So he wanted to take his picture with us. Hell NO.
Erm...
Well the rest of the day was fun too. Today was Back to Business days at school, where we get our schedules and get our yearbook pics taken and whatnot. And I went with the one and only Estefania Rodriguez. And we have lunch together the whole year! Yee-haw!
This is going to be the most epic year of lunch ever. No doubt. Hello, Ice Cream Fridays!
Aaaaaand I am also oddly very excited for AP Euro. AP Euro is gonna be pretty epic too, since the Phineas and Ferb Speech Trio are reuniting! Plus Bridget! YAY!
(In case you were wondering, the Phineas and Ferb Speech Trio are me, Mari, and Sara. We did our introductory speeches on characters from Phineas and Ferb, and it was pretty flip, flipperin' flippen amazing)
And choir. Choir will be INSANELY epic. I have a feeling that this year is going to be a pretty epic one indeed.
Well, I believe that this is the end. I gots to go to bed. Ta-ta for now!

XOX,
Kara ♥
